Terms of service

Last updated October 6, 2026

These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Store Credit ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

The service

The app manages store credit on your Shopify store using Shopify's native store credit accounts: it issues and takes back credit when you ask it to, credits groups of customers you choose, gives cashback on paid orders under the rules you set, refunds orders to store credit when you confirm it, shows balances in an optional theme block, and keeps a ledger of what it did. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.

Your credits

You decide who gets store credit, how much, when it expires and your cashback rules, and you are responsible for your terms towards your customers (for example how store credit can be used and what happens on returns). Store credit is held and spent in Shopify under Shopify's rules; credit you issued stays with your customers if you uninstall. The app sends each credit once and records Shopify's answer; check the activity ledger for anything marked as failed.

Billing

Plans are chosen on Shopify's plan page and billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can change or cancel at any time on that page or by uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.

Availability and liability

We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.

Data processing addendum

When the app processes personal data of your customers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:

  • process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
  • process only the minimum data needed: the app stores customers' numeric Shopify IDs with the credits made for them (amount, currency, reason, your note, dates, Shopify's transaction ID), cashback orders by ID, and CSV emails only until they're matched; names and emails are read from Shopify when shown and never stored;
  • never sell personal data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
  • encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest);
  • use Cloudflare (hosting, database and job queue) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
  • delete all store data after uninstall (shop redaction), remove a customer from the ledger on an erasure request, and delete CSV emails after 30 days;
  • help you respond to data subject requests and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.

Changes

We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
